Microsoft Expands Cloud CRM Technologies
Monday, November 21, 2011 by Christopher Bates
Earlier this month, Microsoft delivered a service update to the fifth major release of Dynamics CRM. This service update reinforces Microsoft’s commitment to delivering familiar, connected, and intelligent experiences to its customers. Here is a synopsis of a few key features:
- CRM Online (cloud) now fully supports custom .NET code, reporting, and deep ERP integrations.
- Seamless user experience for CRM Online, Office 365, SharePoint, and Lync — all embedded into Outlook.
- Identity federation with single sign-on to CRM Online from your Active Directory business directory service.
- Enhanced BI capabilities built into CRM Online dashboards, new multi-series charts, and chart design tools.
- Improved duplicate detection rules for cleansing customer data.
- New social media interaction tracking tools, built into CRM Activity feeds.
“We liked Microsoft Dynamics CRM because it built on our previous investments, such as Active Directory, Microsoft SQL Server, and Microsoft Office SharePoint Server. But perhaps most importantly, the software worked with Microsoft Office Outlook and fit seamlessly into the way people worked.” - Greg Lush, Vice President and CIO, Linc Group
